What makes an evening filled with good food, games, and raffles even better? Celebrating with fellow members of the Silver Lining community!
Every day, Silver Lining volunteers make a difference in the lives of our young people. To show our gratitude, we hosted Volunteer Mentor Appreciation Night on September 22nd. The celebration took place at Aeronaut Brewery in Somerville, with catering from Fresh Food Generation. It was a beautiful, much-needed evening of connection and community after more than two and a half years apart!
The relaxing atmosphere found mentors reconnecting with peers who were matched during the same Learn & Earn cohort years ago. Others met Silver Lining staff and Board members for the first time, and still other mentors found themselves in the company of old friends.
Silver Lining CEO Colby Swettberg and Volunteer Manager Alex Parkes took a few moments to show our appreciation for our dedicated volunteers. As the staff member responsible for recruiting and onboarding our volunteers, Alex is especially grateful to our mentors:
“Our mentors are the backbone of our organization and community. It was so wonderful to see them in-person and thank them for everything they do to support youth impacted by foster care.”
On behalf of the entire Silver Lining Mentoring community, THANK YOU to our incredible mentors!
