ADOPTION & FOSTER CARE MENTORING SELECTED FOR ROOT CAUSE SOCIAL INNOVATION FORUM
BOSTON (December 20, 2013)—Root Cause’s Social Innovation Forum announced that Adoption & Foster Care Mentoring (AFC) Mentoring is one of five “Social Innovators” it has selected for 2013-2014, its 10th program year, representing the “Anything Goes” track sponsored by Boston Open Impact. As a Social Innovator, AFC Mentoring will receive access to cash and capacity-building services over the next 24 months from Root Cause and its partners valued at more than $115,000.
Evaluation and interview committees made up of more than 70 social issue experts from the business, government, nonprofit, and philanthropic sectors reviewed upwards of 100 applications to select the winners – all of which are at an exciting inflection point and have compelling missions, strong leadership and vision, a desire to improve, and growth potential.
