We’re deeply grateful to have been part of a wonderful evening in Burlington, MA, on November 23, 2024 with Maddie’s Mission, a nonprofit dedicated to advocating for the healthy development of children at risk due to their environment. Inspired by the adoption of their daughter Maddie, the Geller family founded Maddie’s Mission to support organizations working to give young people who have experienced foster care a fair chance.
We were honored to be included as a beneficiary of this event alongside the Massachusetts Adoption and Resource Exchange and other nonprofits supporting foster youth in Massachusetts.
The event was a vibrant celebration, featuring dinner, dance performances, caricature drawings, an auction, and inspiring stories showcasing the power of community to transform the lives of young people.
The evening was a powerful reminder that working together is essential to ensuring that no young person—especially those impacted by foster care—faces life’s challenges alone.
Silver Lining Mentoring CEO Colby Swettberg spoke about the importance of consistent, positive relationships and emphasized that everyone present that night demonstrated their belief in the collective power of the village it takes to raise and support young people.
At Silver Lining Mentoring, showing up is what our mentors do every day for youth in foster care. We’re energized by the incredible advocates and partners who stood with us that evening, united by the belief that every young person deserves someone they can count on.
Thank you, Maddie’s Mission, for your commitment to creating brighter futures. We’re excited to see the change this partnership will inspire for our young people.
